We are delighted to announce our new partnership with NCUK, we will deliver the NCUK International Foundation Year in Islamabad, Lahore and Faisalabad from 2023.

NCUK qualifications are recognised by universities from within the NCUK Global Network and beyond, they are able to give students the best start and guarantee access to an NCUK University upon successful completion of their studies with them. With a diverse set of qualifications available as well as opportunities for qualified students to progress directly to university, NCUK supports thousands of students each year on their academic journeys.

NCUK - International Foundation Year

NUCK International Foundation Year is a qualification designed with university partners to prepare the student for first year entry to undergraduate degree courses. International Foundation Year allows students to become specialize in English language, study and cultural skills that are an essential part of undergraduate degree course. This unique combination helps students to get into the University of their choice and get on with their desired future career.
A foundation qualification is normally required by students who have completed high school outside of the UK education system and/or in a language other than English.
This qualification will help bridge the gap between their local qualification and university study and is designed to give you the academic and English language skills needed to succeed at an international university. Upon successfully completing the NCUK International Foundation Year, students are guaranteed a place on a suitable course at an NCUK University.
The NCUK Guarantee means the student has an excellent choice of leading universities which will offer the student a suitable place based on their grades and area of interest. NCUK gives the student that offer on results day and takes the stress out of the application process.

Programme Structure

Just like the UK A-level qualification, you choose three modules to study depending on which degree you would like to take at university. Along with this, the IFY students will study one of the above modules which are designed to ensure all students get to university with the required high standard of English language skills. Students can choose from two disciplines, Business & Engineering.

Assessment

All assessments are set by a team of NCUK subject experts, comprising of UK university staff and senior teaching staff. The student is assessed through 70 per cent exam and 30 per cent coursework for each module.

To be eligible for the degree, you must:

  • Applicants must normally be 17 years old by the 31st December in the year that they start the IFY. Applicants who are 16 may be accepted in exceptional cases but such students will have limited progression options.
  • 5 GCSE/IGCSE/Cambridge International O Levels with minimum grade C (normally include Maths and English).
    or
    2 AS Level - E Grades from a UK A-Level board.
    or
    1 A Level - E Grade from a UK A-Level board.
    or
    International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) Successful completion with a total of 34 points or more with a grade of 5 or more in both Maths and English. Students must have completed e-Assessment.
    or
    International Baccalaureate Successful completion with a minimum of 22 points.
    or
    HSSC / Intermediate (Pakistan) - Successful completion with an average grade of 50% or more (with a grade of 50% or more in Maths, and English if studied)

After successful completion of IFY student will have guaranteed access to international universities. The student can progress to:
  • 1- International Universities for Undergraduate degree
  • 2- Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering at Beaconhouse International College
